Prior to delivery, there are a few standard questions that we'll need to ask before delivering your shipping container.
Direction of you Shipping Container Doors
You will need to advise which direction the container should be loaded onto the truck. This will affect the direction that the container or portable buildings will face once unloaded from the truck.
Surface of the Site
Placing a shipping container on a flat surface is ideal so that we can ensure the correct operation of your standard or specialised shipping container. Also, placing your shipping containers on sleepers or concrete pads is recommended for long term shipping.
To ensure a safe & efficient delivery, Port Container Services must know of any obstructions that may cause issues including overhead wires & overhanging branches.
Port Container Services will also discuss what type of shipping container transporter will be needed for delivery. Factors affecting the type of truck include where you require delivery, the accessibility of the site & the type of product you have ordered.
Tilt Tray Transporter
The tilt tray transporter is normally needed when delivering to a location where damage to the flooring is of no concern. The shipping container is loaded onto the transporter in the direction requested ensuring the unit will be in the correct position upon delivery. The truck must reverse to the delivery point where the tray of the transporter tilts to the ground and the shipping container slides off the back.

Width – 3m (10')

Side Loader Transporter Delivery
A side loader transporter can deliver a shipping container by picking it up from the transporters tray at each end of the unit and lowering it onto the site directly next to the transporter. Shipping containers that need to be positioned into constricted spaces usually are delivered this way. It is important to consider which way the container should be loaded onto the truck as it can only be unloaded from the right hand (drivers') side.

Hiab Transporter Delivery
A hiab transporter is a truck that has a crane attached to it. This delivery method is used to when neither a tilt tray or side loader truck can access the site. Hiab delivery allows for shipping containers to be delivered over obstructions such as fences.
